For Lederach, transforming a conflict requires moving beyond immediate solutionsand opening up the possibility of imagining, different futures— in whichpeople can recognize one another, rebuild trust, and forge bonds that previouslyseemed impossible. It is not merely a matter of resolving a specific problem, but rather of creating theconditions for sustainable relationships that enable a more just, dignified, andhumane coexistence. This imagination entails ethical sensitivity and a profoundunderstanding of human dynamics within conflict situations.

This intimate two-person exhibition brings together the artistic voices of  Carmen Espinosa and Carolina Brijaldo, two female creators who migrated from Colombia to Europe—one settling in Ripollet and the other in Germany Through their distinct practices, the exhibition explores the body as a territory of memory, its political dimension, resistance, and migrant identity, reflecting on how roots are reshaped from a distance.

Carmen Espinosa's Work: An immersive installation featuring a blanket woven from recycled         packaging, suspended alongside photographic documentation of a performance.

Carolina Brijaldo's Work: A multi-disciplinary presentation featuring a video performance exploring the concept of "home," a photographic series capturing the act of walking and burying feet into the earth, and a conceptual triad composed of a map, a textile house, and a photograph.

Interactive Installation: The exhibition features an interactive house structure where visitors are invited to participate by writing down their own definitions and locations of "home.

Home transcends its mere physical location on a map and becomes a continuous act of care: a refuge where one can be sustained and nourished. For migrants, home evolves from a static place to an inner landscape carried within the body. It acquires an ephemeral quality, becoming a house woven from memories, skin, and the absences of what was left behind.

This exhibition addresses the hybrid nature of cultural identity: shifting memories, reinvented traditions, and roots that are never static, but constantly evolving. The title itself suggests this rich duality. "Cumbias desbordadas" (Un-Embroidered / Overflowing Cumbias) references bodies, rhythms, and emotions that transcend borders. Together, these elements weave a narrative of transformation—one that is deeply corporeal, rebellious, and profoundly alive.

The original conceptual framework was developed by Liz K. Peñuela; however, the project evolved and was enriched through the collaborative ideas, contributions, and collective work of all three members.
